Sharon Olthaus received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati in 2000. She then went on to Miami University and received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2002.


Sharon has previously worked in schools, hospitals (inpatients and outpatients), private practice, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare. She has worked with children and adults who present with a variety of speech, language, cognitive, feeding, swallowing, and social difficulties.


She incorporates play-based and structured therapy techniques with sensory integration to maximize communication skills.

She received training in sensory integration, oral motor therapy, apraxia of speech, augmentative communication, feeding/swallowing, and sign language. Sharon has also received special training and certification for Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation and the Facial Muscle Exercise Program for swallowing treatment in 2002. She is also a Certified Clinician for the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, which is a specialized voice treatment with a speciality in Parkinson’s Disease.
